Help With My Nec Nd 2510a Dvd Burner?

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

I was able to burn both +/- DVD’s with my NEC ND 2510A DVD Burner up to about 3 months ago. All of a sudden now I can only burn +, I must have changed somthing but I can’t figure it out. I am at best a novice with computers so any help would be much appreciated. I have an Emachine T3256 with an AMD 3200+, 160gig HD, DVD +/- RW 8x double layer DVDRW. 1.024 gig memory. I use Nero. How Can You Replace The Windows Default Icons From Shel32.dll With Others?

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

ActivIcons—is free software—that makes it simple to change properties for various icons on your Windows desktop and in Explorer, plus attributes for many other desktop settings. You can save and restore the desktop layout, repair corrupted icons, increase the size of the Windows icon cache to prevent future problems, and much more.
You can substitute your own icons for the standard Windows icons and cursors. In fact, ActivIcons goes through your Registry and lists out all of the icons found there, so that you can change those as well. You can even use ActivIcons to display animated icons on your desktop, or make the icon text labels transparent.

Computer Won’t Boot…ntldr Is Mising, Cannot Recover Xp With Cd?

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Everytime I try to start Windows XP it says NTLDR is missing press ctrl alt del to restart. When I put my windows XP CD in the drive and click boot from CD-Rom it will sometimes say the same thing. Other times it will begin to go to the windows setup, but will have an error. (file i386.biosinfo.inf could not be loaded, toside.sys could not be loaded, setupdd.sys could not be loaded, ect.) each time i have to restart my computer. I’m getting really sick of this. it seems to be a different error each time.
Is there a way to recover or re-install windows XP on my computer without having all of these errors?
Any help or explanation would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you very much in advance!

Help With My Computer’s Bsod.?

Monday, January 18th, 2010

recently whenver my computer is turned on after a shut down a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) appears. I think it is to do with graphics drivers/cards as it states the file nvlddmkm.sys (something to do with nvidia) in the BSOD. Also the error code is 0×00000116. any help would be appreactiated.

Problems With Vista?

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

So my computer somehow got really shot. I don’t know if it was a virius or what, but after tinkering with it (and making it worse), I finally became so fed up and decided to start from scratch. I erased my drive, and reinstalled vista.
But there are two problems:
1) After reinstalling Vista Ultimate (32-bit), I get the blue screen of death. It happens when Vista is about to load for the first time and the error screen flashes so quickly that I can’t catch the error code, but I think it’s c0000zia or c0000021a — I’m really not sure.
2) When I try to get in there on safe mode, loading gets stuck on the crcdisk.sys. I had this problem even before I reinstalled Vista
Also, I was able to load everthing before reinstalling, and the windows problems & reports said it was with the harddrive. Also, the recovery disk never gave me the option to just repair my system.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

Computer Noob Needs Help With Drivers?

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

Hey, im not really good with computers. I’ve been playing a game called World of Warcraft and i’ve been getting a low frame rate per second so i decided to delete my drivers and reinstall them or update them. Although the problem is i don’t know which drivers to get. I tried getting Geforce drivers but an error msg came up saying that my hardware isn’t compatible or something like that. I tried intel drivers but the same msg came up. Any ideas? Btw, this is a copy of what appears when u type dxdiag into “run”.
