Windows Shell Common Dll Has Stopped Working?
Friday, February 19th, 2010I’m running Windows 7 on “HP Probook 4710s” laptop, and when open the speakers menu in system tray and click on “speakers (SoundMAX integrated digital HD audio)” it opens up an error message: Windows shell Common Dll has stopped working” and finds no solutions online, my drivers are installed correctly as far as device manager says, and I have found no answers googling it. Any suggestions please?
Thanks in advance
Can Someone Walk Me Through Reinstalling Or Repairing Windows Xp Pro?
Monday, February 15th, 2010OK! I have a video driver corruption on agpCPQ.sys and am not able to load Windows in any way. I’ve tried just about everything (BIOS, Data Recovery, CMOS settings, CHKDSK etc) and nothing seems to work. My EMACHINE W3118 gets through the Windows load screen and then goes dark. I would prefer to repair Windows XP through the recovery console. I ran chkdsk with /f and even though the found error seems to have been fixed my computer is still not loading or displaying. I have also reinstalled Windows XP on my partition 1 (FAT32) because I was nervous about deleting all of my files on NTFS if this would not fix my problem. I am at the end of my rope and could use a step by step walk through on how to delete and reinstall Windows on NTFS partition (assuming thats what I should do) Can anyone help?
For a bit of background this all started when I tried to install a new VIdeo Card. I disabled and deleted the previous drivers and stopped the VGA Controller process only to discover that my new video card was not in all the way. It turns out that either this or all of the restarting corrupted the system driver file agpCPQ.sys

Windows 2000 Recovery Help?
Thursday, February 11th, 2010Heres the deal, I recieved my dads older laptop he was given by his work. Right after my warrenty went out on it it decides to break. Now when I reboot my laptop it says:Disk I/0 error: Status = 00001000 windows 2000 could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \Winnt\systems32\drivers\Fastfat.sys and during this time is does a loud continous beeping noise Now I’ve talked to gateway the maker of the laptop and they have been saying I need the recovery disk which I do not have. Then I contacted Microsoft and they are absolutly NO help They just told me go back to gateway and complain. So I was curious if anyone has the files from a recovery disc for Windows 2000 that they can give me or a real tech support (thats free) that will help acually repair my problem and not send it off another direction. Or maybe even a place to get the recovery disk!!!!
Unable To Install Windows Xp Pro, On A Fresh System.?
Wednesday, February 10th, 2010I am trying to install, pre SP1 ver., on a fresh system and am constantly getting an error message as soon as it is done with the initializing and is ready to start the installation. The error states:
“A problem was detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage…..”
and I will get the technical information:
*** Stop: 0×0000007E (0xC0000005, 0xF748E0BF, 0xF78DA208, 0xF78D9F08)
*** PCI.sys – address F748E0BF base at F7487000, datestamp 3b7d855c
I tried the installation multiple times and every time I got the same error at the same place. I replaced my Video card, removed my sound card, removed my RAM, switched HDD, switched Optical Drives but nothing helped. I will greatly appreciate any help I can get from the tech gurus out there. I have used the same CD multiple times in the past and it worked flawlessly. The last installation I did with that same CD was on an E8400 system last summer and it worked perfectly.
I tried to install Kubuntu 8.10 last night and that installed without any problem, so my hardware is good. But the problem is that I cant use Linux because most of the softwares I use does not support Linux. I was going to install Windows XP first and then was going to upgrade to Vista, but I am stuck for now.
My current rig specs are:
Intel i7 920.
Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5.
G.Skill 12800 RAM (3GB).
nVidia 9800 GT OC.
Xclio 650W PSU.
Creative Fidelity Soundcard.
HP DVD.
Sony BD-ROM.
Dual WD VelociRap HDD (300GB ea).
No RAID Setup.
Thank you all in advance.

Ok, i recently installed Kaspersky antivirus because my AVG did not detect 1 particular virus, I uninstalled AVG and installed Kaspersky… It removed the viruses and worms BUT when i restarted it, as soon at it loads windows it always crashes!
I tried to reinstall windows but, i can’t get to cmos but F10 key is not functioning. dunno why.
BUT i can still boot windows by using the Safe Mode (with networking). or by Diagnostic mode startup. makes me think that it’s NOT a hardware issue.
Please tell me what to do.
