I Am Working On A C++ Program For Unix That Will Use Files As Semaphores, Please Help.?
Monday, January 25th, 2010OK, so I’m supposed to use the creat() function in C++ with UNIX to create 5 files and only 5 files. I then want to test to see if those files are in use by using creat() on them again. My professor states that when creat() makes a new file, it is open for writing, however, when it truncates an existing file, it fails if there is no write permission. This allows a file to be used as a semaphore.

The second creat() should return -1 as an error because the file already exists, but it is returning a successful value…please help! Thx.
Windows Xp Service Pack 2 Will Not Install. Please Help?

20 gb hard drive 3.5 free
Here is the error information
drwtsn32.exe – application Error
the instruction at”0×5a00671a” referenced memory at 0xff2fb084″. The memory could not be “read”
Click ok to terminate the program
click on cancel to debug the program
I clicked on cancel, then I got a Blue Screen. The error was caused by win32k.sys. The laptop restarted before I could write any more information.
Chkdsk ran on restart. Setup was interrupted restoring prior configuration.
The Windows Service Pack installation did not complete. The system is in a unstable state. Got Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs and choose to uninstall the Windows Service Pack or contact your system administrator.
I Goggled the error information but did not find any useful information.
What should I do to get this Service Pack installed?

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009Recently I got an error code, an .ocx file occupied an illegal.dll range, reserved for WIn Sys user 32 .dll. The error code says that the application won’t run properly and to contact the original vendor to get a new .dlls. Is the .dll included on the restore disk or is it a separate built in memory somewhere else?
