If you have a virus, you should first try to remove it using your antivirus software. System32 is a VERY bad place for that to be in. Becareful what you download. “free” movies and music isn’t so free if you lose data or have to pay someone to fix you computer. If you have already tried running the antivirus program and you are absolutely sure that it is confined to that folder you can copy the contents of the same folder on your dvd and replace the infected folder. If that does not work you can reinstall windows on top of itself. If you have vista all your data is safe in a file called windows.old just reinstall on the same partition, go to windows.old and copy over everybodys documets, pictures and music from EACH profile. Do NOT copy over anything you got from a P2P file transfer program like limewire. That’s probably what infected you in the first place. After you copy over your good data ONLY to a external HD or a flash drive, do a return to “factory image”.
ATMFM is supposed to be adobe type manager. I would uninstall and reinstall your printer software. It think it is more likely you have a corrupt system32 folder or a corrupt registry than you having a virus. But you almost have to TRY to screw those two things up. Neither would be damaged my NORMAL use. Again, be careful what you download

I recently tried AIM hacking programs because I was bored; and when I tried using them, they didn’t work; so I installed the AIM Stuff Missing File Pack; and since the programs didn’t work after I did that, I decided to manually delete the files that were put up; but now my microphone is no longer detected on my Inspiron 1420; so, I want to know if I accidentally deleted a file that was needed?
For anyone that knows, do I need any of the following files:
actskin4.ocx
ASOscar.ocx
BlonkSocket.ocx
COMDLG32.OCX
FlaimChat.OCX
KirbySock.ocx
LVbuttons.ocx
mooSock2.ocx
MSCOMCTL.OCX
Msinet.ocx
Mswinsck.ocx
OscSev1.ocx
oscSock.ocx
RICHTX32.OCX
SevToc3.ocx
TABCTL32.OCX
toc2sock.ocx
tocsock.ocx
tocSocket.ocx
xeonSocket.ocx
XPButtons.ocx
And I’m running on Vista; thanks.
I realize I could just reinstall AIMStuff, but I don’t want any unnessisary files.
If anyone can tell me which of the Dell disks to run, that’d be great too.

each time i on my laptop, a notice pops out with a big honk that sounds like one that you hear in quizzes shows on tv when someone is giving a wrong answer.
it says in the notice : your DLL from c:/windows/system32 has been moved because hhctrl.ocx is occupying the whole range of adress ..something something and supplier of dll should be contacted something something. being a computer retard, i just think that i have to delete this hhctrl.ocx to get the DLL back in place to wherever it was. but i couldnt delete this hhctrl.ocx. i tracked down in the system32 folder, and this hhctrl.ocx is present with an icon of those green and yellow gears. (btw im using windows XP here). so what to do? i dont know if this is because i downloaded games from websites or is it because i updated the windows because i remember being prompted from the windows taskbar. or toolbar. whichever.
