Rundll32.exe process opening with error msg sound but no error msg.?
I keep getting an error message sound… and I have noticed whenever this occurs, rundll32.exe is open in my processes. Recently I had a virus (Trojan.Vundo.H) which was removed by using Malwarebytes’ anti-malware. I have scanned my computer with Nod32, Kaspersky, Spybot Search&Destroy, and lavasoft ad-aware. They all come up clean so I know my computer is not infected anymore. I was wondering if there’s a way I could check what is opening rundll32.exe and giving me this error msg sound with no error msg, or if anyone else has experienced anything similar. P.S. please don’t recommend another antivirus because my computer is clean !

I’ve just downloaded the Dell 1501 Sigmatel sound driver for XP SP2, and it tells me, after I’ve unzipped it, “Exit error: error: Device Object not present. Please restart system and try again.”
But I’ve restarted four times. Please help?

I used to have Windows ME and I updated to Windows XP. I want to update my sound driver and I’ve tried a few updates but all have a weird error about how I can’t do it or some crap. Here is my sound information, if anyone knows a free way to update my sound drivers I would be so happy!

i believe i am missing the dll. for drivers, but i have downloaded and installed all the drivers and software but wont work, btw i have winXP and realtek ac97, i even tried a new sound card, bought creative sound blaster and installed but had error and it couldn’t complete install, and when i try to adjust volume it says no mixer installed, what do i do?

upon recently installing a brand new xp operating system it produced an error saying that it could not install cdaudio.sys. i reinstalled it 3 times and it says the same thing everytime, i then borrowed another xp disk and again the same error, before xp i had linux ubuntu as my opertating system and my sound worked just fine. i have now got got no sound and would like to know if anyone can help me on how to get sound?
p.s, i was recommended copying and pasting a friends cdaudio.sys file into mine, but that still hasnt worked.
