I’m so lost….I’ve read other people’s answers but everyone got this error after installing service pack 2 for windows….mine does it because of messenger….anyone got any ideas? I tried the defragment, checked the system for errors and I did a disck cleanup as well. still the same error. help guys….thanks alot!

I’m getting a few of these rthdcpl.exe errors from some my mates. It says its a problem with the realtek sound driver, you can fix this by downloading the driver again, which i have done, but i read some where that some spyware can rename themselves as rthdcpl.exe in the system32 file. Anybody else come across this get???

Monday, September 28th, 2009I received this error message when my laptop restarted after an update, my o/s is win xp sp2 home edition, the message goes, The system DLL user32.dll awas relocated in memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation occured because the DLL C:\windows\system32\hhctrl.ocx occupied an address range reserved for windows system Dll’s. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL.
Is there a fix for this, I have found out that the DLL is part of the realtek hd audio manager on my pc….. I guess its some kind of virus but not sure…….

Sunday, September 27th, 2009Downloaded TuneUp Utilites utilized all features avaliable. Downloaded updates from microsoft and java also the updates for web root sweeper. The message I’m getting now is:
Illegal System DLL Relocation. System Dll user 32.dll was relocated in the memory. Occurred because of the DLL. C:\WINDOWS\system32\HHCTRL.OCX occupied an address range reserved for windows systems DLLs. Not sure what to do.
When the PC restarted it had to go though disk checks 1 of 5 in C drive, and this took about an hour and one half. It did restart

I have a compaq and it is windows XP. This is a new PC, i just got at christmas time. I don’t know what to think of this error. I have done a spyware check, and a anti virus and a Registery mechanic. I have also checked the windows update and that is all set. I am lost, and help please.

Relocation occurred bcause DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\HHCTRL.OCX occupied an address range reserved for Windows systems DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL.” This is the message I received first 5.Apr.07. I did a system restore back 4 weeks and carried on alright. However, upon booting up the next day I got the same message. What does it all mean and who is the ‘vendor’? I have a new laptop (Dec 06 Toshiba Satelitte) running XP and am finding it is taking a long time to load when first switched on. Clicking on any icon, desktop or Start menu, takes a long time to respond. I am using mains power and dial up. Also aLogitech cordless mouse. Any ideas cos I don’t understand.
