just got used laptop about a week ago and have only got on it about 3 times. do not have internet connection at the house and have only been using open office software and games already on the laptop. it runs Windows XP and was working fine until this morning i did a boot up and its giving me an error saying “lsass.exe system error” the specified domain does not exist.
give me the bad news on what this means and how to resolve it if known please. i need this laptop back up by next week

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009My AVG Antivirus started to unable to download updates, then a few days after, when I turned off my computer, Windows XP started to install updates before shutting down. When I came back from school, my sister started to complain because she can’t use the computer and she’s blaming me for it. When I started the computer an error message appeared.
lssas.exe – Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application.
I clicked OK then there was only a black screen with a mouse cursor. I tried to start my computer in Safe Mode to try System Restore but the error message still appeared.
Please Help! I don’t want to reformat my computer. All my designs are in there. i am planning a repair install but I don’t know how to do it and I don’t know if that’s good option. I’m Desperate for your Help! I have to submitt a project a few days from now. I’m in a tight schedule and I don’t want to get into trouble.

Friday, September 11th, 2009I have a gateway desktop that runs windows XP. Every time that I try to book my computer, I get an error message that says “lsass.exe not found”. Then my computer restarts. it does the same thing in safe mode. it does this over and over and over. I CAN NOT get to the desktop screen, so installing software to fix it is out of the question. People keep suggesting that I use some kind of software to clean it.that isn’t possible beause I cannot even get to the desktop screen. it just gives me that lsass.exe error message and then starts over. I have been trying to fix this for over a year. I do not have any restored disks or the windows disk for this computer. Can anyone please tell me how to fix this???

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009Help! While booting, our other computer shows an error that says something about lsass.exe and the whole thing freezes. I’ve tried booting in safe mode, all I get is the words ’safe mode’ in all four corners and a black screen. I have Avast but I can’t get the system up long enough to get it onto the network and let my other computer scan it. It will let me get into DOS but I’m not sure what to look for to get it running from there. Is there a startup CD I can find for XP? It was preinstalled and warranty is out so I dont have a seperate cd, I REALLY need to try and save this system as intact as possible. I realize I’ve got a virus/worm etc. so if anyone has ideas I’d be eternally greatful!!! Thanks all!
