My laptop works completely fine until I get to random points in games. The laptop will just crash, completely turn off, with no error message. It will then automatically restart as if I have shut it down normally, with no error message displayed upon log-on, apart from something about SQL servers, which have appeared ever since I manually uninstalled MS Office 2007. On my flight Simulator (ms 2004), it will do this whenever I open a flight, and switch to an external view. On another game it will crash whenever I open the options menu. I have tried updating the drivers, but I have absolutely no idea what is wrong with it, it has never done it before. Anybody know the cause / solution of this extremely annoying big?
Here is my DxDiag report, don’t know if it helps.

I got an IBM Thinkpad T42. For probably over a year it hasn’t work, and I didn’t try to really do anything since I got a new thinkpad right before it stopped working. I’m trying to fix this up for someone now.
Here’s the problem.
When I power on, I press the blue ‘Access IBM’ button.
After a minute, i get the following message:
\minint\system32\biosinfo.inf could not be loaded
error 4096
I then restart the system until I get to the screen that tells me windows XP did not shut down normally.
I choose safe mode.
When it starts to go through everything, these are the last 2 files it gets hung up on.
mup.sys
agp440.sys (the last one)
I only include mup.sys because that’s a problem I’ve had with my other thinkpad when it overheats and crashes sometimes.
When all the files are listed, something comes up at the bottom of the screen for a few seconds saying something about pressing escape.
I press escape.
A blue screen comes up only for a second.
STOP: c0000221 {Bad Image checksum}
The image kernel32.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the computed checksum.
It then goes to the windowsXP load screen with the graphic and the horizontal bar moving. (it’s not frozen, just gets hung up and loops forever)
I restart the system. try ‘last good configuration’
and as I type this, it’s been about 15 minutes at the windows xp load screen.
When I start in safe mode, I also sometimes get these errors instead of the checksum one:
There has been a signature failure. A disk read error occurred.
or..
STOP: c0000221 Unknown HardError
\SystemRoot\system32\ntdll.dll
Anyone have any ideas?
Not sure if it’s corrupted files, a corrupted HDD that needs replacement or something else. I was possibly gonna sell this so I want to know if it can be anything besides the hard drive.

Last night the blue screen of death appeared on my computer screen and I wrote down the error code. I called Toshiba support center and they told me to turn the computer off restart and continue to press f8 and click on last boot configuration or something like that. The computer works fine now. However the woman I spoke to said that she doesn’t know why my computer crashed in the first place. So I called the IT help desk at my university and gave them the error code. They told me it meant there was a problem with the network drivers and I should install an update I did as told and received the message that my computer already had the best possible software installed and so the helper told me that there must be a problem with the actual wi-fi card and that I would need to send the laptop in to either best buy’s geek squad or toshiba. I live on campus with no car and best buy is far away, classes start wed. so I don’t have time to send it into toshiba and wait for it to get back. I can’t afford to be without a laptop, anyways I went onto Toshiba’s support website typed in the make/model: Satellite A505-S6960 and found a support bulletin titled: Wi-Fi data transfer may stop temporarily, “Copy File” error message. It basically said to download this Atheros wireless LAN driver thing. Here’s the link to the bulletin:

http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=SB&os=&category=&moid=2346347&rpn=PSAP0U&modelFilter=A505-S6960&selCategory=3&selFamily=1073768663

I really don’t want to download this and get even more problems so if someone could read the bulletin and tell me whether or not this will solve my problem that would be helpful. Also, the error code I got on the blue screen of death was 0×000000d1 NETw5v64.sys if that will help.

I have a dell inspiron 5160 and i had a problem with it and shipped it to dell to fix it. So they just mailed my lap top back and so i turned it on and it was working fine and beginning to load up but then the screen turned blue and had an error and it said that system32/drivers/ntfs.sys was courrupted. So then i quickly shut off my computer and treid to restart it but ikept getting teh same error message. So i looked online on how to fix this and they said to put in the XP cd and click repair. So i put the cd in and it began to load and it said loading debugging something and it just stays on that screen. I left it to load for over 14 hours and nothing changed. Now when i start my laptop it just shows that dell screen and loads that white bar then the screen turns black. I can’t go into safe mode or chose most current configuration. i can’t do ANYTHING. Hooww the heck do i fix this??? PLEASE HELPP:
