Even I uninstalled the older version of flash before installing.I manually checked the content of c:/windows/system32/macromedia/flash/. I Need Help With Installing My New Hard Drive Please!!?
Tuesday, October 13th, 2009I am trying to install my new hard drive, it is blank. My old hard drive had XP on it and I am installing xp on my new drive so I was told I wouldn’t need to flash the BIOS. So when I went to install it, I let my laptop boot from the xp cd and it gets all the way to where I have to decide the NTFS or FAT32 then it comes up with this message:
A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED AND WINDOWS HAS SHUT DOWN. IF ITS THE FIRST TIME YOU’VE SEEN THIS ERROR RESTART AND DISABLE ANY ANTIVIRUS, DISK DEFRAGMENTATION OR BACKUP UTILITIES. CHECK HARD DRIVE CONFIGUARTION AND CHECK FOR ANY UPDATED DRIVERS. RUN CHKDSK/F TO CHECK FOR HARD DRIVE CORRUPTION AND RESTART.
TECHNICAL INFO:
***STOP: OX00000024 (OX001902FE, OXFBC87664, OXFBC87360, OXFB4533AO)
*** NTFS.SYS-ADDRESS FB4533AO BASE AT FB3F8000, DATESTAMP 4117eea
What does this mean and how do I fix it. I was told once that it might be a format problem and I went on the microsoft support page and found something on the “missing or currupt ntfs.sys” error and tried to (as it said) go to the xp recovery and type in some commands but it went to the same screen.
I had another hard drive and returned it because this same thing happened at the same point.
WHAT DO I DO? HOW DO I RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM? IS IT A BAD HARD DRIVE AND WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? AS I SAID THIS SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED WITH ANOTHER HARD DRIVE I HAD.

Error Of “could Not Copy ____ File” While Installing Xp?
Tuesday, September 29th, 2009My computer would not boot up, I kept getting an error of “ummountable boot volume”. I got an XP cd and am trying to reload it. I had to reformat the C drive and its now trying to install. I keep getting errors about not being able to copy files, about 10 in a row now. Here are the files so far:
ws2ifsl.sys
_default.pif
wscript.chm
wscript.hlp
wsecedit.hlp
wsh.inf
wshatm.dll
wshcon.chm
wshisn.dll
wshnetbs.dll
Why is it giving me these errors and will the install work if i keep skipping all these files? I know i will have to download them asap, but will it still install? Is this a problem with the CD or with the computer?
Error Installing Win98 Onto Computer?
Sunday, September 20th, 2009To play some of my favorite old, old games, I bought a new HDD and unplugged my old ones and tried to install Win98 on my 1 year old computer. I cannot finish the install and after the first reboot I get a repeatable error “Insufficient Memory to Initiate Windows-Quit one or more memory-resident programs or remove unnecessary utility from your config.sys or autoexec.bat and restart”
The problem is there is only 1 line in my config.sys (decive=C:\windows\setver.exe and there is NO autoexec.bat.
Needless to say my computer vastly exceeds the requirements for Win98 (AMD 4000+ and 3GB RAM). I searched for solutions on Microsoft and could not find this error.
Currently the only HDD connected to the computer is formatted in FAT 32 and the file structure is correct. I just cannot get past the first reboot and actually configure Win98. The HDD contains no information and I have reinstalled and reformatted 5x with no luck.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
