I just bought a lenovo 3000 N100 model 0768 and window vista is installed. But I want to use window xp. So, I put Window xp CD in and restart to boot it. It did boot, and load files, but then it pop up a message said :
” A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time yoou’ve seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps. Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the Stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacture for driver updates. Try to change video adapters. Check with your hardware vendor for any bios updates. Diable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing….

Thursday, January 21st, 2010I have 320 gb HDD, Pentium Dual core processor computer. I want to install win 98 & win xp both on this 320 GB HDD. I partitioned 5 partitions with 63gb each. Then I installed win 98, the screen “Getting ready to run windows for the first time” appears. After that an error message only appears “insufficient memory to initialize windows”, “Check config.sys and autoexec.bat”. After that the computer turns off automatically…. I have 1 gb DDR2 Ram also…. Please give me to solve the problem…..

Thursday, January 21st, 2010When I turn on my laptop, i get the error message “windows cannot start because the following file is missing or corrupt” and then it lists “\windows\system32\config\system”. When I hit “R” to try to repair, nothing happens. I DO have the install CD. I put it in, turned off and then restarted my computer – but NOTHING happens. Shouldn’t my computer recognize the CD and try installing from it? I’m trying to google answers, but nothing is helping. I hit the F8 key, tried restarting in safe mode, tried restarting with “last known good configurations” but nothing works. It keeps bringing up the blue “Dell” screen and then the black screen with error messages.
I guess my question is – how do I use my install CD to fix my broken config.sys file? Does that file deal with the main registry? Did a virus do this? Last night, at 1 am (10 hours ago), it worked fine. My dad shut the computer off normally, and now this is happening. Help!!!

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010I am trying to install a program called Lanier VXP player. What this is is a device that plays files using a VPN connection to a hospital. I do medical transcription. I just got a new computer which has Vista on it. No one in the little company I work for has every tried this program with Vista. When I try to install it, it gets 96% done and then says it is installing “profiles/lanier healthcare/vxp player/drivers/winNT/joystick.sys” Then it comes up with an error saying “E:/drivers/winNT/joystick.dll” Any ideas what is going on? I would SO appreciate any help! Oh, and it also says “I/O device error (0×45d)”
