Recently I got an error code, an .ocx file occupied an illegal.dll range, reserved for WIn Sys user 32 .dll. The error code says that the application won’t run properly and to contact the original vendor to get a new .dlls. Is the .dll included on the restore disk or is it a separate built in memory somewhere else?

Wiping A Secondary Hard Drive?
Thursday, November 12th, 2009Ok, so when I try to boot up my comp, I get the stop error 0×7e in pci.sys….I tried going into Safe Mode, but that did not work, Windows XP will not load up.
So I was wondering if there was a way that I could hook it up to this computer and wipe it without wiping this comp’s hard drive so I could install Windows XP on my hard drive.
What Is Zeroing A Hard Drive?
Monday, November 9th, 2009I have a 60 GB Western Digital Scorpio in my Dell Latitude C600. After a reformat and losing 20% of the data for my music website, now I’m getting BSODs off the charts and random reboots, programs exiting by itself constantly. Usually it’s because of something with the ntfs.sys, pci.sys thing.
The diagnostic utility for WD drives always detects errors and bad sectors in the complete scan and chkdsk reveals more…now I may have to use the WD utility to zero my hard drive…but what exactly is zeroing a hard drive and will I be able to clean install Windows XP after writing zeros to the drive because now its getting ridiculous.
How Do I To An Wipe Xp Hard Drive?
Sunday, November 1st, 2009I tried to update to KIS 2009. Something has gone horribly wrong (klif.sys file error) and now I cannot even boot in safe mode. It sticks in the black safe mode screen. In normal mode, it just keep cycling trying to boot and giving the BSOD. I cannot use the recovery console because I don’t have an admn password and cannot get to the registry to change it.
A couple of months ago, I installed this WD 250 gb hard drive after cloning it using Apicorn adapter/cloning software from the original 100 gb 2.5 hard drive IDE. I have the idea to put the 100 gb hard drive back in the laptop and totally wipe the new 250 gb hard drive. Then I’ll reclone the old hard drive to the new hard drive like I did two months ago.
Will this work and how do I do it?
I Need Additional Help Installing My Hard Drive?
Tuesday, October 27th, 2009I am trying to install my new hard drive, it is blank. My old hard drive had XP Pro on it and I am installing xpp on my new drive so I was told I wouldn’t need to flash the BIOS. So when I went to install it, I let my laptop boot from the xp cd and it gets all the way to where I have to decide the NTFS or FAT32 then it comes up with this message:
A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED AND WINDOWS HAS SHUT DOWN. IF ITS THE FIRST TIME YOU’VE SEEN THIS ERROR RESTART AND DISABLE ANY ANTIVIRUS, DISK DEFRAGMENTATION OR BACKUP UTILITIES. CHECK HARD DRIVE CONFIGUARTION AND CHECK FOR ANY UPDATED DRIVERS. RUN CHKDSK/F TO CHECK FOR HARD DRIVE CORRUPTION AND RESTART.
TECHNICAL INFO:
***STOP: OX00000024 (OX001902FE, OXFBC87664, OXFBC87360, OXFB4533AO)
*** NTFS.SYS-ADDRESS FB4533AO BASE AT FB3F8000, DATESTAMP 4117eea
What does this mean and how do I fix it. I have done a low level format of the hard drive and burned the iso file for the test cd.It is a Travelstar 15 gig.
How Do I Reformat My Hard Disk Drive?
Thursday, October 22nd, 2009I am having trouble reformating my hard drive in Windows. I have gone to my computer and tried to reformat the drive using the Disk management utility, and it pops up and error that says “Windows cannot format this drive. Quit any disk utilities or other programs that are using this drive, and make sure no window is displaying the contents of the drive”.
So I went snooping around and started deleting files on my own, and I have come across the reason behind my lack of the ability to format. The following files are not allowing me to delete them or reformat my drive (even in safe mode):
Flashutil9C
FlDbg9c.ocx
epilogue.ps
AcroIEhelper.dll
AcroPDF.dll
pdfshell.dll
This is on a secondary partition in which I used to have Windows installed, but I now have it installed on another partiion of my drive.
So is there a way for me to kill any and all processes that use those files, and then be able to reformat my hard drive with out using the OS boot CD?
Problems Setting Up Western Digital My Book External Hard Drive (setup Does Not Run Correctly)?
Friday, October 16th, 2009ok, so I try to run the setup file that’s on the hard drive, I assume to install the utilities and stuff, and it won’t run correctly. I double click on it and the first thing it does is tell me that Flash9 ActiveX Control or later is needed. I click Yes and Flash9 Player pops up. Upon closing this window, an error tells me “Access violation” at some address in module “Flash6.ocx”, which seems to be a null pointer error. Another window appears after clicking ok here that has the WD logo on it, but then nothing else. I assume this is supposed to be the loading image for the installation wizard, but it doesn’t progress beyond that. What could be wrong?
P.S. I have tried copying to the hard drive without doing the setup and it eventually ends up telling me that there isn’t sufficient space on the drive, even though explorer says I have more than enough. I don’t know if this is helpful
