its the hl2 steamless edition and its a clean install, however, whenever i try to start using the hl2.exe in the root directory, i get a failure (or, unable) to load launcher.dll, the worst part is the blasted dll is sitting directly to the right of the %@$!*^ hl2 launch icon! somebody help I’ve been itching to play this game for eons and i had problems with steam.

Portal Game Lags Then Crashes On First Level? Hl2.exe Error?

My copy of Portal crashes when i go through the first portal on my laptop.
I cleaned out my drivevs of clutter so i have plenty of available memory.
I have almost 1gb (.99 to be exact) of RAM and am running off of a 1.73 GHz processor with Windows Vista as my operating system. I dont know how to tell whatt kind of graphics card i have or whether it is above or below the necessary standard for the game. Also, i’ve heard that McAfee antivirus can effect the game. I have McAfee. Could that be the problem?

Ok so I reinstalled one of my computer games and now I installed another but having issues getting it to work. It’s missing a DLL file it claims but I went to System and i see it there. How do I send that file to the game so it can work???

Ok, i play this game Soldier Front from ijji.com. Sometimes after a game is finished i get an error saying: windows has encountered an error and must shut down to prevent further damage. It says the error is caused by a file named “dump.wmimmc.sys”. what can i do to prevent this from happening? is it dangerous to my computer? any answers are appreciated…if u need more details ask me…thanks

The message continues, “the application module was modified. It may be damaged or infested”. I’ve tried reinstalling the game but the same message appears. I bought a new Race Driver 2 but the same again. My original game used to work and my other games (eg:-Race Driver 3) plays OK. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I have a decent laptop (new) well over the spec’s required to run this game, but I can’t get the game to start up! I’ve patched it with both the 1.2v patch and now the 3.5 unoficial patch. Before any patch it simply would not run, and now I have the error message:-
Sys_LoadPhysicsDLL: Failed to load VPHYSICS.CLL
Can anyone help me please – I REALLY want to play this game!
