The filename is something like: “dnscon74.dll” residing in my Windows/system32 folder. My antivirus identified but cannot clean or quarantine it.
I’m also afraid to simply delete the file as it may affect my Windows O/S. Also, if there is a cure/quarantine, what is possibility of also affecting my O/S such that I may have to reformat my drive?

“Update AVG and run test of the Windows System folder to schedule the removal of the infected DLL/OCX library on computer restart. ”
Excuse my ignorance, but how in the world do I run such test? What folder do I open? What icons do I click? What do I type? Do I even need to start the computer in Safe Mode?Sorry but I’ve been trying for many days to fix my computer and I’m definetely frustrated. Please, give me step by step instructions. Thank you.
