Explorer.exe Error, Help!?

Saturday, December 5th, 2009

Hi,
I had a little bit of a trouble with my computer and I have tried everything to fix it!
When ever I start my computer the explorer.exe wont start, the System says that is unable to find/start it. So I don’t get to my desktop, it’s just the background image with nothing else, No Start menue thing, No Desktop, NOTHING, All I can do is use the (Ctrl + Alt + Delete ) and I get the window thing, thats all.
Like I said, I tried everything to fix it,
~I got RegistryBooster 2 + the PowerSuit
~I got the antivirus AVG + Everything extra it included ( Bought every Update version and Extra thing for the Anti-Virus )
~I looked everywhere, There was one post saying to go into your explorer.exe or iexplorer.exe and delete the debugger and I did not have explorer!
Please if someone know how to help then help! Give me resources, place to look, anything. I don’t mind reading.
Thank you!

Is There A “explorer.exe – Application Error” Fix?

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

PLEASE HELP if you can.
After a recent viral attack which I managed to clean both manually and with Norton and Mcafee, I noticed that every time my computer boots up the following message pops up:
Explorer.EXE – Application Error
The instructions at “0×71ab664d” referenced memory at “0×71ab664d.”
The memory could not be “written.”
Click OK to terminate the program. Click CANCEL to debug the program
OK CANCEL
This pop up remains on the screen while my desktop photo appears. If I ignore it the system will boot as normal behind it. When I click OK the pop up goes away but the explorer.exe process stops and the desktop icons and the taskbar disappear. Sometimes it doesn’t even reach this far and the desktop icons and taskbar don’t appear at all. All you see is the wallpaper and the cursor and nothing can be accessed. If I click CANCEL another message pops up saying that their is an error with Drwtsn.exe (Dr. Watson) the program that is supposed to debug it. after this the desktop icons and taskbar disappear.I can usually get around this by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete to get to the task manager and clicking File > New Task (Run…) and entering explorer.exe. After this the desktop icons and taskbar reappear and the system runs normal.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Explorer.exe Runtime Error?

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

I am using Window XP professional with SP2. I have 2 administratve accounts (adminA and adminB).
I start IE by using the account adminA. Then I switch to the adminB account. I attempt to start IE or a window explorer in the adminB account. However, I cannot start any of them. The following error prompt pops up.
“Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error Program c:\winnt\explorer.exe. This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application’s support team for more info.”
