i ve xp pro installed on a 40 gb ata hdd. recently bought an 80 gb sata hdd. partitioned it with xp’s disk management. three primary partitions and one log. no partition exceedin 20 gb. all fat32. windows shows this new hdd wen i click my computer.
but wen i try to install xp, the installation path screen doesnt show any of the 80gb hdd drives. wen i disconnect my old hdd and boot from cd, wen xp pro installation reaches the installation path screen, it says “error in partmgr.sys … please restart” …
xp installation is not detecting my new hdd. i ve intel 945 gccr motherboard

Sunday, August 2nd, 2009i use avg free as anti virus. It’s started detecting virus in c:\windows\system32\file2001.ocx and other such .ocx files which even after putting into virus vauls are still popping up. Tried system restore to an earlier date but didn’t work. Need urgent help!
