I recently got a blue error message. I believe it was the Blue Screen Of Death (not the “Windows has encountered an error and will be shut down” message), and these are the specifics it gives me:
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
(and here are the hex addresses it give me under technical information)
*** STOP: 0×000000D1 (0×00000018,0×00000002,0×00000000,0×0xF8…
*** iastor.sys – Address F813125D base at F8122000, DateStamp 422f3bcc
I know a few things about computers. I have a somewhat understanding of how hex works, and those hex values look like addresses. I believe they are literally the source of the problem. I believe my computer was accidentally shut down mid-update, or there might have been a program or driver (or possibly even a virus) that could have interfered with a Windows update and caused it to shut down without finishing said update. Also, I can’t start Safe Mode, I get a string of messages that read like this:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WI… sys driver here*
It stops with the sys driver on agpCPQ.sys.
In other words, Windows won’t even start up. I know the operating system still exists on the computer because the logo pops up when I try to boot it normally. Plus, system restore doesn’t work; it just restarts my computer.
If anybody can tell me a possible way to fix this problem it would be wonderful. I do have two computers (both running XP) but I’m working on my masters degree and all my homework is on the broken computer. Its all due in just two days so I need help immediately!
Remember, I have two computers both running XP, so if there is a way I can use my working computer to fix my broken one then include that in your answer please. Thank you.
(Closing note, I don’t have the start-up disc.)

Blue Screen Of Death ???
Monday, December 21st, 2009My computer has been randomly crashing with bsod(blue screens of death). It happens almost every day now. It tends to happen when i am browsing the net, but it can also happen when I’m not even using it or simply typing.
Here’s some of the errors it’s showed when crashing:
-irq not less or equal
-page fault in non paged area
-bad pool header
Sometimes with these errors the name of a specific file is given. Once the ‘page fault in a non paged area’ error came up and a specific filename was given – win32k.sys. I have also seen the ntfs.sys file being linked to one error.
I have also noticed that programs tend to crash a lot more when I am using them – specifically IE and Mozilla.
Are there any diagnostic tools that will help me locate the source of the error?
Is it a case of corrupted files in the system?
Is it hardware or software related?
Is it a virus?
Had this problem few months ago but I did a clean install. Now its back again. Please help me
What Is Up With My Pc Again? Blue Screen Of Death All The Time?
Monday, December 14th, 2009I just recently bought a new processor at Microcenter, The Intel E5200 and my computer would give me the blue screen of death. My pc would just freeze and give me an error. Even during reinstalling XP i would get the blue screen. It is the 4th or fifth time of a clean install of XP on my hard drive. I did checkdisk and other programs i used to see if my hard drive had problems but my hard drive is fine. I swapped out the memory and my pc would still crash. I just put in my old celeron back in just now and my pc did not crash or freeze. My motherboard is a Biostar G31 M7 TE and it supports my processor from celeron and the exact model number for the E5200 all the way to quad core. I did not overclock or anything to my processor. The error i would get at the BSOD is Stop: 0×0000007A (0XE14D58C0, 0xC000000E, 0XBF90F00D, 0×7990A860
another BSOD said Kernel_Inpage_Data_Error
and also Win32K.sys-Address BF90F00 base at BF800000, date stamp 41107F7A
I saw on a thread on techguy that a processor could have compatibility issues with ram and i think it might be the case. As i speak right now i am using my Celeron 440 2.0ghz and it has not frozen or crashed yet. If i was using my E5200 dual core, even if i left my pc idle the cursor would freeze and the system would crash. I checked device manager and It has support for dual core. This is a custom PC build that i bough all the parts separately. Please help
already updated bios.
my pc keeps crashing and i found out doing research that it could be my memory causing it. 1st, the memory is two different brands. 2nd one ram is DDR2 PC26400 and one is DDR2 5300. I am using my celeron right now and its working fine but if i put in my dual core it would keep crashing. I heard that If you buy memory it should be the same speed according to my motherboard manufacturer. For example I have a dual core Pentium E5200 with a 800mhz fsb. So that means i should get PC2-6400 DDR2 at 800mhz right? Trust me i tried everything, i reinstalled xp llike 5 times. Its not my HD or drivers. Please help.
I also found out that both of my memry is single channel. One is Avent DDR2 PC-6400 800. Is this a generic Brand? My other ram is Kingston DDR2 PC-5300 667. Even when i swapped an only used one of each my PC, sound, audio and video lags, jumps, and skips. Shpuld i get new ram that comes in a kit of two identical rams for example http://microcenter.com/single_produc…u… or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc…8… or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc…8… or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc…8… which one would you prefer?

Hi My Pavillion Keeps On Rebooting With Blue Screen Of Death?
Friday, November 20th, 2009Hi
My Pavillion keeps on rebooting with blue screen of death. The error is related to driver “w22n51.sys” with the error message DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL on the blue screen.
I have been hunting this bug for two days now. These are my observations.
It NEVER happens unless my wireless network is activated. Normal wired network does not cause it.
It typically happens when a Java application in a browser accesses the network.
It happens with 3 different versions of JREs.
It happens with IE6 and Firefox.
The w22n51.sys is a driver for the Intel Pro/wireless 2200BG card.
I have updated the driver from the CDROM version 8.0.11 to 8.0.12.20000.
Searching for drivers at other PC manufacturers always gives this version as the newest.
Blue Screen Of Death.. Help?
Saturday, November 7th, 2009First off, no stupid answers please like ‘dont know’ , ‘it might be’ or even ‘google it’ because ive already tried. Unless your a computer technician who knows where there on about then answer it. Also when answering dont say what it might be, explain and give steps on how to diagnose and find the problem and then how to fix it. Dont just say ‘oh yeah sounds like a hardware problem’.
Last few days the computers been shutting itself down and showing me the standard BSOD. Super fun.
I have no new installed hardware whatsoever. I havent even recently updated drivers which might effect it. I doubt its an issue overheating because i can hear my fans working and i can restart the computer and it will be fine. Plus, part of the error message says ‘A PROCESS OR THREAD CRUCIAL TO SYSTEM OPERATION HAS BEEN UNEXPECTEDLY EXITED OR TERMINATED’. I checked in device manager and everything came up fine with no problems detected. So im doubting any hardware failure. (Comp is 5 years old i think)
Secondly, i have no newly installed software and all my software have automatic updates disabled. The only thing that could have been installed is Windows Updates which i downloaded.
I done a system restore back to when the computer was fine but that didnt help. Checked for viruses, computer is clean. Done a disk-error-check and everything was fine. Even removed registry problems and done a defrag to make things run better and to see if it would help.
Now, it would display the BSOD randomly. I noticed it doing it randomly in the middle of a virus scan or even when ive came back to the computer after leaving it after it was doing nothing for 15 minutes.
I was able to force the computer to do the BSOD. When i tried opening ‘SUPER Anti-spyware’ the computer would hang for 30seconds then display the BSOD. So im not sure if thats linked to anything or not. Came up with a code this time aswell saying KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR Win32K.SYS
Ive just un-installed it to see if it has any effect.
Read up on google, tried disabling and re-enabling my virtual memory but that didnt help. Also had the Win32k.sys file replace itself just incase it was corrupted.
I have windows XP home edition SP3.
Cheers.
