Laptop Completely Crashes And Restarts When Playing Games?

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

My laptop works completely fine until I get to random points in games. The laptop will just crash, completely turn off, with no error message. It will then automatically restart as if I have shut it down normally, with no error message displayed upon log-on, apart from something about SQL servers, which have appeared ever since I manually uninstalled MS Office 2007. On my flight Simulator (ms 2004), it will do this whenever I open a flight, and switch to an external view. On another game it will crash whenever I open the options menu. I have tried updating the drivers, but I have absolutely no idea what is wrong with it, it has never done it before. Anybody know the cause / solution of this extremely annoying big?
Here is my DxDiag report, don’t know if it helps.

Portal Game Lags Then Crashes On First Level? Hl2.exe Error?

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

My copy of Portal crashes when i go through the first portal on my laptop.
I cleaned out my drivevs of clutter so i have plenty of available memory.
I have almost 1gb (.99 to be exact) of RAM and am running off of a 1.73 GHz processor with Windows Vista as my operating system. I dont know how to tell whatt kind of graphics card i have or whether it is above or below the necessary standard for the game. Also, i’ve heard that McAfee antivirus can effect the game. I have McAfee. Could that be the problem?

My Computer Crashes And Says: Your Computer Does Not Support Ti Blacklink Service/ti Graph Link (ticalc.sys)?

Monday, September 14th, 2009

This problem was caused by a compatibility issue between your computer and TI BlackLink Service/TI Graph Link (ticalc.sys). At this time, your computer does not support TI BlackLink Service/TI Graph Link (ticalc.sys).
Troubleshooting
To troubleshoot this problem, follow these steps:
Confirm that your computer meets the minimum requirements to TI BlackLink Service/TI Graph Link (ticalc.sys).
The system requirements for the software that caused the error are usually displayed on the software’s original packaging. If you downloaded the software, then you can most likely find the information on the Texas Instruments website online.
Determine if an update for your software is available.
To find out if an updated version of TI BlackLink Service/TI Graph Link (ticalc.sys) is available, go to the Texas Instruments website online.
If this troubleshooting does not solve the problem, you can also uninstall the program.
I do not know what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Windows Xp Error: 0×0000008e / Crashes When Trying To Access Cd/dvd?

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

Someone please help…
Running Windows XP Service Pack 2
Dell Insprion 5160 / Pentium 4
Installed Windows Media Player 11, got BSODs like crazy every time I tried to play any type of media from my cd/dvd drive. Did research, a lot recommended to do a rollback on a previous WMP version, so I rolled back to WMP 10.
Still get the same errors, some are different, but ALL contain this:
***Stop: 0×0000008E (0xc0000005) …….
videoprt.sys
My system crashes, I have to power off manually and restart windows, get a ’serious error recovery’ message, details (all mentioned above) but never any solutions.
I can play music and video fine when it’s files that are saved to my hard drive. But it is GUARANTEED to crash the moment I try to play something that’s saved on disk. I have tested this theory over and over again, and the problem persists only when trying to play from my dvd/cd drive (both my internal and external).
Please can someone help me? Thank You in advance.

My Internet Explorer Crashes Due To An Add-on?

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

Okay here is the problem: Whenever I view a trailer at a site called gametrailers.com, sometime as soon as it opens the trailer in quicktime or window media player format (whichever I chose) I get pop up saying “Sorry for the inconvinience, but internet exlorer needs to shut down due to an ad-on error” Now the ad-on is listed as “Flash9.ocx”. I tried reinstalling the flash9, but I get the same error. I even tried to delete the ad-on & tried reinstalling it, but I get the same error. I don’t know what to do. Any suggestions?
