I want to be able to manage my outlook express email and address book using Visual Basic. I’m not talking about sending or receiving emails from the server using VB, I can do that already. I want to access mail that OE has already moved to the local machine. I’ve spent a day researching this and my head is spinning. Most of the stuff I find has to do with sending and receiving. Only a couple mentioned accessing OE’s stored emails/addressbook (which is what I want) and they needed third party libraries or controls.
There seems to be multiple flavors of microsoft stuff: MAPI, Simple MAPI, CDO, but none of them are jumping out at me, I’m sure I’m missing something.
If you have a simple (and complete) example of what declarations I need (or OCX’s) and the objects, properties and methods I’ll need, that’d be a great thing.
Thanks in advance

How Do I Tell What Program Or User Has Access To A .dll File?
Tuesday, August 11th, 2009A .dll file on my home computer showed up as a virus on my pc. I have just uninstalled norton anti-virus and added panda software which seems to have found some things and “disinfected” them but the .dll file is still there. Its modified date is 6/3/06 and it didn’t come up as a virus until yesterday.
How do I know if this is a real file that I need? How can I tell what program(s) is using it?
Thanks!
Windows Vista Vs. Microsoft Access Error Dhtmled.ocx?
Wednesday, August 5th, 2009I have written an Access data base that works just fine for users. I have a client with two computers, both have Access 2003, but one has windows XP and the other has Vista.
The database performs fine on the XP machine, but needs to run on the machine with Vista. When the database is opened on the Vista machine, I get an error message that says there is a missing or broken refernece to the file dhtmled.ocx. Should Vista have a file called dhtmled.ocx version 1.0 or is this an Access problem?
thanks.
