System Refuses To Boot After Working For Nearly Weeks?
Have a 4 system which after working for about 3-weeks past a fresh installation, suddenly starts one morning giving error of ‘corrupted system.sys’. Then it requires an OS re-install. This has happened for the third time now.
Have Win XP with SP2
Have always ensured that the system is shutdown properly.

Could be a 100 reasons to why your pc is acting up.
If your windows is a pirated version, Your hard drive is broken, overclocking ect.
I would find the manual over the motherboard and reset the bios to factory settings and start from there.
Make a clean format of your hard drive and re-install windows xp and a good antivirus program..i would recommend avg free to save you some money. Can be downloaded here http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1
If the problem persists you most likely have a hardware issue
Boot to you OS cd, get into the recovery console. Run a chkdsk /p, if it comes up with unrecoverable errors, it’s a harware issue. Recoverable errors, run a chkdsk /r.
This is occuring because your harddrive might have got corrupt just use some disk utility to check your harddrive. try installing hddlife
you can get it’s shareware version at download.com it will show your hdd’s health and performance.after that just reply back so that i
know the correct problem.
