System File Help!!!! I Lost An Important One That Windows Xp Needs!help?

Okay, if anyone can help, I’d love it! I just uninstalled some Vista Transformation Pack from Windows X, and when I try to reinstall Windows XP, it wouldn’t work because I was missing a system file! (.sys) Why would’nt it work!? Was it because the Vista Transformation Pack that damaged it bad? Is it permanent? I also had some registry cleaners and error repair software on it, so did those have anything to do with it? How do I fix it!? Help! And if anyone can, tell me what kind of software that harms Windows and damages system files, to avoid if so I can keep my system stable and intact, thx so much! HELP PLZ!?

Well, Microsoft Windows provided you with a real amazing tool called System File Checker, it can detect corrupted/deleted system files and prompt you to restore them.
To use that tool, you just need an Installation CD for you current version of Windows, now get a CD, then proceed as follows:
    1. Click Start
    2. Select Run
    3. Type “sfc /scannow” without quotes.
    4. Wait until the scan completes, and every thing should go OK after that.
    Thanks.

Try booting with an xp disc and run the repair tool

The easiest way to do this is a clean install since you don’t know what files are missing. The .SYS is just an extension of a system file. By doing a clean install you can wipe out any leftover from Vista.
