Problems Running Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines Computer Game.?

I have a decent laptop (new) well over the spec’s required to run this game, but I can’t get the game to start up! I’ve patched it with both the 1.2v patch and now the 3.5 unoficial patch. Before any patch it simply would not run, and now I have the error message:-
Sys_LoadPhysicsDLL: Failed to load VPHYSICS.CLL
Can anyone help me please – I REALLY want to play this game!

    i ahve the same problem with some games, but sometimes they work when i do this and sometimes they dont.
    try pressing ctrl alt del
    and end any programs that you dont need running (as many as possible because one of them is probably causing it)
    and if that dont work try reinstalling it. (check that it works on your windows)
