Problem Updating Bios On Acer Laptop?

I have an Acer Travelmate 5520 Laptop and I have Windows seven, My current Bios verion is 1.14 and I would like to Update to 1.17 (the latest) I downloaded the update and when I try to run the .exe in the ATI folder, It gives the the error “Open Flash.sys fail” I Tried running as admin and same problem, I really need to update my bios, Please help if you think you may have a solution, Thank you!!!
I would like to update because If I don’t I cant run my ner AMD turon Tl-60 processor :[
