I recently had avast antispyware on my computer and uninstalled it because i found an old norton 360 cd. I installed the norton 360 and came to find out i didnt have the product key. So i uninstalled norton and tried to install avg antivirus free version. I downloaded the file but when i try to install it i get the following error: action failed for file avgtdix.sys:starting service… Error 0×80070014. Someone please help! I already used the norton removal tool and i tried to install spybot to get rid of all virus programs and im getting another error trying to install it too
This is a sign that u haven’t uninstalled it completely.
Maybe u can restart ur PC after uninstalling it.
I think that Norton just wanna u to use it instead of
other anti-virus
I had this error recently and it may be from 2 reasons. 1 if you have another free antivirus such as adaware, it may be interfering with installation. Another reason may be your computer is innfected with some sort of virus already, to get rid of this, try downloading malwarebytes from http://www.download.com. used it when i had that problem and it fixed it right up.
run a restore point return the computer to a few days before you un- installed avast
go to the website and download.
contact them i always contact the company i have errors with and they fix it
