I would first like to start off by saying that I’m only fourteen and I’m not too technically savvy. So I ask that if you are going to help me and give me a solution to my problem, that you be descriptive and clear so I can understand it.
I have a three-year-old Sony Vaio desktop that I’ve had for about a year now. It was given to me by a friend of my brother and since I’ve gotten it, it’s always ran kind of sluggish. But it worked and I could do everything on it so I thought nothing of it.
Starting in mid-July, I would occasionally get a BSOD error when I would start up my computer. All I had to do was restart and it would work fine; but the errors kept becoming more frequent and seemed to occur in a pattern.
The BSODs stopped in September (That’s when I started school and wasn’t on my computer as often) but recently began again. Now my computer won’t even start up anymore and all I get is the same BSOD no matter what I do. I can’t even boot it up in Safe Mode.
This is what I managed to remember from the blue screen:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
0×0000000D1
And after attempting to boot it up a few times, the text ‘NDIS.SYS’ appeared towards the bottom along with other numbers and stuff.
Can anyone help me out and give a diagnosis/solution for my problem? And please don’t give me download links for any diagnosis programs because I obviously can’t get it on my computer.
Thank you so very for your help.
The OS needs to be reinstalled.
Go into BIOS, before reinstalling, and set all values to default. Should be on the farthest right selection. To get into BIOS, turn on your computer and repeatedly press delete. If that doesn’t work, reinstall. If that doesn’t work, get a new computer, or a new power supply.
u have to reinstall the operating system
hi there….IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_EQUAL is a problem associated with the drivers of the computer. basically if u get onto device manager in my computer (properties) and click on view and resources by type…u would see it opens up a list which has something called DMA, IO, IRQ and memory.
now if you click on the + sign next to IRQ u would see that certain values are duplicated. all that u need to do is delete the duplicated values and restart the computer. this should make it to work. if this does not work, u can uninstall and reinstall all the drivers in the computer and it should get the computer working.
now since, in your situation you are not able to boot to safe mode as well….and you also get an ‘NDIS.SYS’ error….you would need to reinstall the OS in the computer. so grab your windows cd and the drivers cd and reintall the operating system and things should work.
but keep the resolution for the next time.
