Sounds like your hard drive got toasted, at least the boot sector did.
A couple of options: Contact the manufacturer of your PC and let them know your plight. Perhaps they can help.
Otherwise you'll likely need to re-install your operating system. If you have any data on the hard drive a good local computer tech, with only a couple hours labor, should be able to back up the data with a program like, say, Norton Ghost, and give this back to you in one fashion or another.
I'd be happy to help you further if you'd like or otherwise need it!

Either the MBR ( master boot record ) is damaged or the Boot.ini could be a lot of things. Try the links below to remedy the problem. jSometimes a hardrive would click if was dead.
Hope this helps.

Disk Boot Failure means that your computer cannot find an operating system on the drive that it's looking at. First, make sure you don't have a floppy in your floppy drive. Second check your BIOS (delete or F1 on your boot screen) and make sure it's looking at the hard drive for a boot.
If you've already checked both of these, then something's wrong with your hard drive. If the windows setup cannot format the drive then yes, you have a serious problem with that hard drive, and it might not be recoverable. If you can format it, and get that error when it's installing onto the hard drive, then it may be an issue with your IDE controller on your motherboard. If it's an SATA drive, you have to have a really recent OS for it to install properly, XP with SP2 already or Vista (I Assume, I don't actually have Vista)
You can try installing your hard drive into another machine as a slave and formatting it there, or at least checking it out. If this isn't possible, try a program like spinright ( http://www.grc.com ) to do an analysis and correction of the drive. Spinrite can correct a lot of problems with hard drives, but you have to have a working machine to make the boot disc or boot CD
