I was browsing the internet and I was just looking at a post and all the sudden my computer froze up and these pop ups from the xp kept popping up and I couldn’t do anything. Its probably a virus but I restarted the computer but I keep getting this blue screen even in safe mode. Is there a way to save the system and return it to the way it was without having the wipe the harddrive clean?
The Blue Screen says:”
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you’ve seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again (which is does; safe mode or not) , follow these steps.
Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adaptors.
Check with your hardware vendor for an BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select advanced startup options, and then select safe mode. (already did – nothing)

I have same question to you.
My computer kept crashing with illegal operation errors.
At first I thought it was a virus, but my antivirus wasn’t able to find anything wrong.
I ran your software and found over 300 errors!!!
After it corrected them, my computer was no longer crashing!
Thank < --http://fix-pc-freezing.com/Clean_Up_Cent… for saving me a lot of time and headache! You fixed my PC when nothing else did!
fails it is time to reformat your hard drive and wipe your pc clean, this can take hours and you will probably need the data recovery disc that you should have got when you bought the pc.

my best guess is you have installed some hardware and it showed you the blue screen, if so remove or try a diffenent slot for the hardware
also did you try to disable memory cache or shadowing in bios? or just try resetting the bios

Ok sounds like you got a nasty virus, here is a guide that we can try and use to fix it http://itstudenthelp.net/phpbb/viewtopic…
bluescreens are normally pretty tricky to work with, becasue you never know exactly what is wrong with them. We can run some tests.
there are some cds such as the UBCD that might help us.
if you post your question here http://itstudenthelp.net/phpbb/index.php I will be able to help you better becasue I dont not check my yahoo to often.
good luck
while there are plenty of viruses out there that can corrupt vital windows files to cause a constant blue screen on restart, installation of incorrect drivers or conflicting files can also have the same effect, even if not very often. Have you tried a “system repair”? If you can hold down ‘delete’ (next to the ‘end’ keyboard button) on a restart immediately until your boot menu appears (if possible), then make sure from this menu that your 1st startup selected boot device is your dvd drive. Insert your windows installation cd/dvd, then save your changes- your cd should start up, and after the cd tells you it has examined your hard drive, choose to ‘repair your windows installation’.
If you are certain you downloaded a virus (eg you were downloading files or clicking on links from questionable websites) and nothing works at all (you cant get to the boot menu to make changes or get the windows cd to run after a restart to try and repair windows), then i wouldve connected the blue screening hard drive to another system (as a secondary hd), booted that system up, and then done a full antivirus scan on your drive, and then saved all files I wanted to keep (important saved personal documents/media files etc) onto either a backup dvd or usb hd (making sure they are safe files that are not infected), before reformatting/reinstalling windows completely on the old corrupt hard drive.
It’s difficult to say. You could have a corrupted system or a hardware failure. You will need to perform some diagnostics and troubleshooting to determine what’s gone wrong.
At this point I would run a live linux distro, see if it all runs well and/or run a memory test utility. If that works it’s likely XP has gotten corrupt. That could be from a failing hard drive or malicious software.
You could try running a hard disk health utility (carefully as this can wipe out the drive, read carefully. Hitachi drive fitness test is a good choice)
The Windows operating system constantly refers to the registry to get information about all of the components such as hardware and software which are installed on the computer. The registry tells Windows what to do and how to access the various programs, files, and processes. However, the registry can contain bad information which sends Windows off doing useless tasks or running unneeded routines. Sometimes errors occur including the blue screen of death. Other times the system slows down. Because of the sheer number of factors that can affect the registry, there’s no one size fits all approach. You can’t just go into the registry and remove the bad information because it’s nearly impossible to decipher which information is good and which information is bad. That’s a job better suited for software. I should like to commend Registry Easy http://cleanup-comuter-run-perfectly.com to you ! You can try ! Good luck!
