Try renaming the Malwarebytes installation file and then renaming the EXE file. Then see if you can install and run Malwarebytes. Remember to run the scan in safe mode.
You can always try another anti-spyware/anti-malware program, such as Spyware Doctor. However, in some cases the fact that an anti-spyware fails to install means that you’ve been infected by something (most commonly a rogue anti-spyware) that blocks legitimate anti-spyware programs. Try renaming the Malwarebytes setup file – that should allow you to install it, if you have indeed been infected.
If you are still able to get online to any security site… go to Avira’s website (link follows) and download their “Rescue CD” and burn it on a blank CD. Place the Rescue CD in your CD/DVD drive and reboot your machine. It should boot into the CD and start a scan. This will take a few minutes but once done, remove the CD and reboot your machine again. It should fire right up.
Just a suggestion and opinion…. AVG is NOT one of the better AV products available in today’s free market (it has NO root-kit protection)… Try Avira’s AntiVir…..http://www.free-av.com/en/tools/12/avira…

I strongly suggest everyone check out SandBoxie! They let you try it for free! Sandboxing allows you to surf the web and download anything you like and if used properly you stay virus free! Viruses can’t get out of the sandbox unless you purposely let them out!
