upon recently installing a brand new xp operating system it produced an error saying that it could not install cdaudio.sys. i reinstalled it 3 times and it says the same thing everytime, i then borrowed another xp disk and again the same error, before xp i had linux ubuntu as my opertating system and my sound worked just fine. i have now got got no sound and would like to know if anyone can help me on how to get sound?
p.s, i was recommended copying and pasting a friends cdaudio.sys file into mine, but that still hasnt worked.

You’re operating system cannot support your hardware. Try buying a sound card from your local Wal-Mart store.
you can try installing other windows like xp3, vista,or crystal xp….
