Computer Problem… Hard Drive Corruption Or Bios Virus?

It started last night. My computer would sound like it was shutting off and restarting abnormally, however it would still run. It sounds like it was overheating. Then it went to the blue screen of death with this error code:
“KERNEL_DATA_INPAE_ERROR”
While also mentioning something about “atapi.sys”
Now whenever I start it up it does the following:
-Displays intel screen
-Goes to “Press any key to boot from disc” screen.
-After I wait for the 5 periods after the message, random characters appear all over the screen.
Ex.) ABCDEFGHIJ >>>> Aé_DEýGðI+
Some will be flashing, others won’t. Some are blue, red, green, yellow, ect. and others are plain black.
-Then my computer freezes nd I have to restart.
MY FIX ATTEMPTS~~
-Reinstalled windows
-Repaired windows
-Booted with disc
-Tried to start in safe mode, wouldn’t go to it
-Uninstalled windows, installed again.
-Tried booted using external hard drive, it didn’t reconize it, but it did rconize it when installing windows.
I’m out of options, and I REALLY NEED THIS HARD DRIVE. I have years of pictures, documents (School + work), and other files on it. I need to find a way to extract them at all costs.
Please help…

Well the computers shot. Mainly the hard drive part of the computer. If the machine posts fine witch it looks like its doing then its usualy not a problem with the mother board. However this error your getting is rather unusual. If i were you get another computer and plug in the hard drive there conecting it via SATA and see if you can pull the documents off that way. You can narrow it down to it either being a bad hard drive witch is the more likely off the two or your computers mother board got damaged in some way. Replace the hard drive because thats deffinately gone if you can’t install windows but then swap out the mother board if that doesn’t work.

  2. Several things can cause this error. It’s actually a INPAGE instead of INPAE error. Atapi.sys indicates that the hard drive itself, or the controller is the likely cause.
The basic problem is that some part of the page file cannot be read into memory. Could be a bad hard drive, bad cable, controller, etc.
    It’s probably not a virus.

idea if it is a tower unplug everthing and take cover off and you will see a battery push the clip on the battery to pop battery out this will reset the bios and than put it back it try to do a full system restore formatting hard drive and this should work
