Well I’m having problems like a lot of the other people .
Basically, I have and intel motherboard with a built in sound card. It is an ac97 card.
When I go to install the driver, my computer crashes and restarts, and I tried to install the driver again and it gave me this blue screen saying portcls.sys has some error, beginning physical memory dump. EVERY time I try to install the driver it does that.
Is there something wrong with portcls.sys on my system, or the drivers I’ve tried…?
i had similar problem with graphic card driver. It turned out to be the hardware itself, if you got warranty take your motherboard back they should fix it for you.
Your driver maybe corrupted Try to update uninstall the driver and reinstall the new one.
Go to Control Panel —> Click System —> Click Hardware tab —> Device manager —> on Device manager look for Sound, Video Game Control. Under this look for AC97 right click it and uninstall the driver.
When it is finished uninstall. Right click again the same AC97 and click update the driver. Let the internet find the correct driver for it
download the driver from http://www.driverstock.com
and install it
