I/o Error & Explorer.exe – Bad Image?

i have a problems with 2 error msg’s both started last night, the first is an I/O error status of 0xc000000e and the second says explorer.exe – bad image
i have never had these problems before, the system bots up fine and loads the desktop fine but once i try to open any file or connect to the internet the screen freezes and then comes the error msg’s
not sure if youneed this info:
fujitsu seamens amilo pi2515
2GB Ram
160GB HD
1.67GHZ
windows vista home premium
please if anyone could help

    Check all your cables are inserted properly as this can cause an I/O error
