Just built a new computer , trying to install XP SP3 and I get an error “regsvr32.exe” Memory could not be read. Then got blue screen with 0×5cb7bd04 error code. I have an ASUS M2N32 SLI deluxe board, XP FX 6000 cpu, BFG 9400 GT video card, 2 gig samsung 5300 mem and 550 thernaltake pwr supply…

it could be anything…
troubleshooting..with different parts taken out of the system and running it is the only way to find out.
if you alternatives for memory try that out..try taking out graphics card and see if that fixes the problem..
Do not bother installing SP3. You do not need it All you need is SP2.
I did have SP:3 on my computer, but last week I reinstalled windows XP and now I also get error message when installing SP3.
As I said, because we do not need it. I won’t even try again.
SP2 we needed after microsoft stopped supporting SP:1. We could not get the uipdates anymore unless we installed SP:2. This is not the case with SP3.
