i installed some programs from the internet. When i opened them up it said that i needed to update some programs i had so it did that for me and restarted. i opened up another program it said the same thing but when it restarted it says “Error loading Explorer.exe. You must reinstall windows.” then i click ok and then another screen comes up and says ” The MSVCRT.DLL file is linked to missing export NTDLL.DLL:RtlGetNtVersionNumbers.” after that i cant get in i keep pushing ok but it still there i have the disks it came with system restore i clicked to restore ONLY explorer.exe but its still has the same message but last time i used it to restore my system i erased thousands of music files and photos. i want to fix this but i dont understand how. i also have priceless photos on there that i dont want to lose again they are not saved. the computer is windows 98. what should i do where should i go? please help and thanks in advance

You might have a virus, but i doubt it. Most likely you were just a victim of a bad installer that installed bad files onto your hard drive. Don’t reformat or do a system restore. You don’t need to.--
First of all, it sounds like the file MSVCRT.DLL was for Windows NT/XP/Vista and not for Win9X computers. If you have your original Windows98 Installation CD, you can probably find it on that CD.
Try going to the link below for how to use the system file checker. If you can’t get there through explorer. Hit
and open Task Manager. Then hit File -> Run and type in SFC.EXE and that should work.Let me know if this works or not.
re-install ie
download ie7 from microsoft’s web page – microsoft allows download of ie7 even if yr windows version is pirated
also try FIREFOX – FREE DOWNLOAD athttp://www.mozilla.org and try
OPERA – FREE DOWNLOAD at http://www.opera.com
both are a generation ahead of ie
Okay you have problem with loading with virus infectiion.
so take your computer in safe mode by pressing F8 continuously after restarting.step should follow like this
restart you computer
before starting computer continuous press F8 you will find black screen with some processing just hold a while& its will show lots of option just go with SAFE MODE your process will be start as well as its start it will show large desktop just click on start button and find antivirus run program.If you got virus delete them.you can restore your pc with start=====accessories======system tool===restore your pc with checkpoint.You will find all error remove you can delete always cookies,history,temporary files,by pressing right click on mouse to internet explorer.
