Why Can I Not Install Any Games – .dll File Problem?

I have been unable to install PC games on my computer for some time now.
Usually what happens is that some way into installing a game or software, it says that it cannot install and makes some comment about a dll file.
Apologies for lack of detail – if you wish I can try again and quote verbatum.

    i had this problem on one of my PC’S and it was due to the wrong requirements for the game to run on this PC check the requirements on the back ov the game and c if you have the right ones
