Use SFC /Scannow to Repair Protected Windows Operating System Files The sfc scannow option is one of several specific switches available in the sfc command, the Command Prompt command used to run System File Checker. Sfc /scannow is the most common way that the sfc command is used.
Sfc /scannow will inspect all of the important Windows files on your computer, including Windows DLL files. If System File Checker finds an issue with any of these protected files, it will replace it.
Important: You must be logged in as a user with administrator rights in order to run the sfc /scannow command.
Follow these steps for using sfc with the scannow option to repair important Windows files:
    Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: Using sfc /scannow to repair important Windows files usually takes 5 to 10 minutes.
    Here’s How:
    Open Command Prompt.
Important: You must run Command Prompt as an administrator in Windows 7 and Windows Vista to use System File Checker.
Once Command Prompt is open, type the following command and then press Enter.
    sfc /scannow
System File Checker will now verify the integrity of every protected operating system file on your computer.
Note: In some situations, especially in Windows XP and Windows 2000, you may also need access to your original Windows installation CD or DVD.
Restart your computer if sfc /scannow did actually repair any files.
Note: System File Checker may or may not prompt you to restart but even if it doesn’t, you should restart anyway.
Repeat whatever process caused your original problem to see if sfc /scannow corrected the issue. http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthe…

In almost all cases DLL errors are caused by a corrupt system registry. You need to clean and repair your Windows registry to correct these errors. While this can be done manually if you are an experienced computer technician it is usually not recommended.
Altering the Windows registry can be very complicated. Alter or delete the wrong file in your computer may not start up again or become unusable. There is much safer way. You can download and run software that is made for the job and safe to use. Since Windows does not come with anything for registry cleaning and repair you will have to download one from a third-party. The ones recommended on our main page are all safe and thoroughly tested.
So if you have DLL errors on your PC and need to repair them just follow the simple procedure. Download one of the registry repair programs from our main page, install it and run a scan on your computer, when it has completed and detected all the errors click the fix errors button. You may have to restart your computer, however after that all your DLL errors should be completely gone your PC running as smoothly as when you first bought it.

Hi Francis, this is not a cure but it may give you a clue what to read next. Forget that this site will want to sell you their program and read the bits in the middle these may give you some understanding to what .dll is/has gone wrong and what to do next. I hope this helps. all the best. Rab.
