Could Someone Help Me Figure Out How To Fix All These .dll Errors? ?

For nearly every program that i open, i receive a .dll error stating that “the application or dll c\windows\system32\*.dll is not a valid windows image….” I have a windows xp and i tried restoring the computer to an earlier date, but that didn’t help any. Is there any suggestions or ways to fix this? I would really appreciate the help.

  1. System File Checker Windows Standard tool: http://www.helpwithwindows.com/WindowsXP…
In this website it also explains the fix for prompt of Windows XP Pro. CD.
This will fix any remote code execution that has occurred.
Also make sure you have the latest Windows Updates to prevent issues such as this, and do not make any unauthorized edits to any system file.

My suggestion would be to take note of exactly which .DLL file your computer says that you are missing in each program that says you are missing a .DLL file. Then I would go to this website http://www.dll-files.com where they have numerous .DLL files free and available for download, they are cataloged by first letter so they will be very easy to find.
Once you have downloaded the .DLL you will need to extract the folder it came in, typically they come with a “Read Me” file that explains what the .DLL is for and the actual .DLL, which appears as a paper with a set gears on it.
After you have extracted the .DLL file and have made sure you have the one that your computer says you need, follow these steps.
    1. Open “My Computer”
    2. Open “Program Files”
    3. Find the file that has the name of the program you downloaded the .DLL files for and open it.
    4. Take only the .DLL file out of the folder you extracted earlier (the paper with the gears on it)
    5. Move the appropriate .DLL file into the correct program folder.
    6. Close the program file and now your program should work properly.
I hope this helps, I have had this problem bite me a few times as well.
DO NOT DELETE THE SYSTEM 32 FILE. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO RUN YOUR SYSTEMS PROPERLY.

Oh no! Don’t base everything off of my opinion, but loosing a .DLL file in system 32 sounds like you downloaded a virus or something on accident. Did you scan your computer for viruses? I don’t think that it will help at this point… maybe back up all of your files just in case you need to reformat your computer… my boyfriend would know more but he is dead asleep. Sorry.

Back up all your files. You are not going to fix this easily. I suggest buy a new Vista Machine and only use programs you are already familiar with.

  5. get a program called CCleaner from download.com
I use it all the time
