    Generally you can also type anything you would type in the RUN box of XP in the ’search’ box on Vista.
    So if you click on the start button you will see a text box. Type in whatever it is you wanted to type in the RUN box and you should be good to go.

    windows key + R will also open the run dialog box.

    its hidden by default, open the start menu and in the search box type run.
    in the taskbar properties it will let you ’show run’ in your start menu.
